Charles James “Charlie” Kirk (October 14, 1993 – September 10, 2025) was an influential and deeply committed Conservative activist, media personality, and founder of Turning Point USA. After being fatally shot by a politically motivated assassin at Utah Valley University, Kirk died unexpectedly at age 31.
Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Kirk came into political life at an early age. In 2012, he co‑founded Turning Point USA — an organization that inspired millions of young conservatives and encouraged important debates on college campuses.
Over the years, Kirk became known for his fierce advocacy of free speech, Christian values, and his alignment with the MAGA Movement. He was one of the first to use social media, public speaking, and grassroots organizing to build an expansive political influence throughout America.
Kirk is survived by his wife, Erika Frantzve Kirk, whom he married in 2021, and their two young children. Earlier this week, Turning Point USA’s Board unanimously appointed Erika Kirk as the organization’s new Chair and CEO, honoring Charlie’s expressed wishes and continuing his vision.
Charlie Kirk will be remembered as an important figure who inspired Generation Z like no other. To watch his funeral proceedings today, Sunday, September 21, 2025 on live TV, tune into any of the major news outlets starting at 2:00 PM EST.
